1. Objectives
The objectives of the fellowship are to promote research by specialists in radiology and to train them in Korean academic institutions. And it is also to contribute to the distribution and improvement of radiology, encouraging mutual understanding as well as scientific cooperation.
2. Administration of the Fellowship
The fellowship will be administered under the rules of KSR Fellowship as decided at KSR.
KSR will be responsible for the following matters regarding to clinical training and/or research in Korea:
1) Selection of recipients.
2) Assistance in finding an appropriate institution for the candidate. 3) Giving a grant for the fellowship.
4) Issue of certificate in completion of clinical training and/or research after receiving a related reports from the recipient and one's tutor.
3. Institutions for Clinical Training and/or Research
National, public or private institutions in Korea, including universities, colleges, hospitals, laboratories (etc.) which are able to receive recipients.
4. Term and Period for Clinical Training and/or Research
(1) The term for clinical training and/or research shall be at least 1 month and maximally 3 months in principle.
(2) The period of clinical training and/or research shall not be altered in principle.
(3) The recipients must start the training in their applicable year.
(4) The due date for the application is August 30th in previous year and applicants are given an official notification during October from KSR.
5. Field of Clinical Training and/or Research
Clinical training and/or research shall be in the field of radiology.
6. Requirements of Recipients
(1) Age: Recipients may be up to 40 years of age.
(2) Career: Recipients must be specialists with sufficient training and experience in radiology who have graduated from medical colleges.
(3) Language: Recipients must use fluent English or Korean to enable them to complete the clinical training and/or research.
7. Duties of Recipients
(1) During the period of clinical training and/or research, recipients must obey Korean law, should cooperate with tutors and related personnel, and should make every effort to achieve the objectives of the fellowship.
(2) On completion of the period of clinical training and/or research, recipients should submit a related report to the office of KSR at their earliest convenience.
(3) Immediately on completion of clinical training and/or research, recipients are obliged to leave Korea for their home country where they should contribute to the general improvement of radiology.
(4) The recipient is obliged to be an international member of KSR.
8. Grant for Recipient
(1) KSR sponsors for radiologist who would like to spend as visiting fellow in Korea.
(2) The grant will include air-fare and minimum cost of living.
(3) The maximum limit of the grant per recipient will be 5,500,000KRW.
(4) The maximum limit of monthly support will be 1,500,000KRW.
(5) The maximum limit for economy-class airfare reimbursement will be 1,000,000KRW
(6) If the recipient receives other financial support during staying, KSR grant will stop and the responsibility about the recipient will be transferred to the new supporter.
